ALTITUDE

We received several pieces of work that pushed the concept of two dimensionality. We placed these with suited companions to make up the Altitude chart.

Fish disappeared into organza and a pocket was formed around a precious pelt. Architecture was flattened and mirrored and a globe was reassemble into shiny pillows.

A map fragmented into a cluster of cubes and tiny paper pages furled and fluttered a fictional

Tasmanian chapter.

Many viewers returned to the exhibition for second and third visits and we received lots of positive feed back about how the town was enjoying the show.

We devised an orientation competition which encouraged viewers to look closely into the superb detail of each piece and find points of interest and intrigue.

This competition also provided a useful survey allowing us to guesstimate the viewing numbers at approximately 300 people per day.

On going planning is for further touring of the work. It will eventually be deposited in a public collection within Australia. We will keep all the artists informed of unfolding developments.

Viewers were able to vote for their favourite work. Most pieces received a significant number of votes and the final result was a tie giving us an international and a local winner.
